BE Bearings has determined that some rod bearings on the S65 V8 are wearing unevenly. After consulting with numerous professional engine builders they reasoned that the connecting rod caps are distorting under load, which makes the bearing shell shift inside. BE determined that a stronger connecting rod bolt with a very specific tightening procedure was necessary.
BE contracted with ARP Fasteners, the best-known motorsport hardware manufacturer in the USA, for a custom set of S65 rod bolts. The custom torque specifications ensure minimal rod end bore distortion.
