PAGID Racing RSL compounds are developed to comply with the latest requirements in endurance racing and meet or surpass all current ecological standards of the automotive industry.

Pagid Racing RSL brakepads are excellent performing brakepads for endurance racing with their good modulation and controllability.
These brakepads work on a wide range of temperatures and are very disc friendly.
Pagid RSL brakepads have excellent release charactaristics which makes them perfect for racing cars with ABS systems.
The pad materials used in RSL compounds give a low heat conductivity that helps prevent brake fade (boiling brake fluids) and gives the RSL a slightly progressive in-stop behavior.

Application range:
Very popular in club racing and track days. GT cars, Touring cars and prototype endurance racing. Due to excellent modulation characteristics also often used in sprint races.

Description:
RSL 29 features very good modulation and release characteristics. It is a low metallic resin bonded material containing steel and aramid fibers. The friction level of the material maintains constant at a low-medium level. Another advantage is the easy bedding in behavior.

Pad fitting:

New brake pads must move freely in the caliper guides. Always use the appropriate pad shape to ensure proper fit.
When new pads are installed, always ensure that the pedal is pumped up to take up any caliper piston travel prior to driving the vehicle.

Brake pad bedding in:

In the first phase of the bedding in procedure, you have to create a perfect contact-pattern between disc and pad.
And this is how it works: you have to do about 10 stops with low pressure and low temperature from 150 km/h to approximately 80 km/h.
The distance between each brake stop should be between 600 and 800 meters.

brake fade

Pad fade:

If the temperature between pad and disc gets too high, gasses build up an air cushion between pad and disc. The pedal remains stiff, but the stopping power is reduced.
Solutions are an improved cooling, change to a higher temperature range pad material or a higher mass brake disc.

Brake pad size:

A bigger pad does not mean a bigger stopping power.
But the greater heat capacity of the larger pad can improve modulation, wear rate and lead to more consistent performance.

Brake balance:

A perfect brake balance is important in order to reach a minimum stopping distance by maintaining good vehicle stability.
The bias setting can be done with either correct selection of the friction material and respective friction coefficients or also by race cars which are having a balance bar by adjusting the balance bar into the correct position.

Pagid unique backingplate solution

Brake backingplate:

To guarantee a perfect connection between friction material and backing plate, PAGID Racing is using a specific retention system with brass studs that are welded directly to the backplate.
These brass studs are softer than the brake disc (rotor) and wear away as the pad is consumed causing no damage to the disc.
